What is a phobia ?

A phobia is a fear in medical terms or a state of panic exaggerated, unfounded and persistent in certain situations, facing certain objects, activities, or persons, that is to say in general face the phobic stimulus.

It is expressed in an excessive need to avoid disproportionate because of fear. Examples of known phobias are fear of flying, spiders and the claustrophobia. The term phobia however is also used in a general sense to describe the repulsion of any kind.

Fear of flying
Fear of spiders
The dentist phobia
